How did the “party” representative comment on Israel’s control of Beaufort Castle?
Fady Mahouly
Member of the “Loyalty to the Resistance” bloc, MP Hassan Fadlallah, considered that “the goals of the Israeli aggression against Lebanon go beyond the issue of resistance weapons to an attempt to impose new geographical and demographic realities, extending from southern Syria to southern Lebanon. This requires a different Lebanese national approach, a radical reconsideration of the approaches of the authority and political forces to what is happening, and getting out of the illusion of betting on exploiting the aggression for factional calculations. The fate of the entire country is in existential danger, not a region or a sect. For our part, we will continue to confront this aggression and defend Our presence is in accordance with what the facts of the confrontation require, and the resistance is the will of an unbreakable people. It is not a regular army that fights according to traditional methods. It has never said that it prevents an invasion or the occupation of geography or that there is an armed balance, but it is capable of exhausting it and preventing it from establishing its occupation in any spot it occupied. It will continue its work in defense of its people and its country. It has a high morale, and psychological warfare will not be able to affect its effectiveness and the exercise of its legitimate right to self-defense. For three months, the heroic resistance fighters have been confronting the most powerful army in the region and confronting it valiantly near the border, despite the great disparity in capabilities, and until now they are defending their front villages with a spirit of martyrdom and qualitative operations, regardless of the sacrifices and costs.”
He said: “We have no choice but to continue resistance and steadfastness, especially since the enemy’s expansion of its occupation and demonstration of its ambitions is an additional incentive to adhere to resistance as a national option to liberate our land and defend our country. Rather, this aggression must be an incentive for all Lebanese to resist the threat to their country. What the enemy wants is to impose surrender on our country, and whatever the developments are on the ground, we are its owners and we will liberate it, and the youth of the resistance are the people of the land and the owners of the right, and they will expel the occupation again as they expelled it before.”
Representative Fadlallah’s words came during the honoring celebration held by “Hezbollah” for his martyr Hussein Ali Salami (Abu Hassan Diya) at the Sayyida Khadija Complex in Msaytbeh, in the presence of a number of scholars, activists, figures, families of the martyrs, and a crowd of people.
Fadlallah pointed out that “Beaufort Castle is a national archaeological site under the authority of the Lebanese government, and it was not a military site for the resistance. It is affiliated with the Ministry of Culture and is not a facility in which there are fighters. Filming the enemy raising the occupation flag should provoke the feelings of every sincere patriot, as it is directed against Lebanon. We do not know if the government considers itself concerned with what is happening, and whether it will tell those who resist the occupation that its activities are outside the law, and whether it was able, through negotiations, to prevent aggression and massacres against civilians and those Occupation of land, including that which has historical symbolism for Lebanon.”
Fadlallah concluded: “The Israeli escalation has proven the failure of the direct negotiating option that the authority resorted to to obtain any gain. The political results of these negotiations are all in the interest of the enemy, which exploited them to deepen its crimes against Lebanon, especially in the south. Therefore, what is required of the authority is to reconsider its calculations, not to continue on this downward path, and to return to national solidarity and search for solutions with everyone’s cooperation to protect the country. Our national demand is clear, which is a comprehensive ceasefire as a prelude to the enemy’s withdrawal and the return of the displaced.” We have many elements of national power that can be mobilized to achieve these goals.”
